Six Senses. Rome, Italy. ...
By Posh Voyage

A Six Senses in the heart of Rome was a little bit of a shock at first, after all Six Senses brand has been known for their eco-culture and spa-retreat type hotels. However, when Six Senses announced that in March of 2023 they were going to be opening their doors, I naturally was intrigued to see what the Thai brand had in store for their Italian property.

Once photos started circulating of new new kid in the block, I was pleased with the perfect execution of modern take on the ancient art of Roman wellness.

Six Senses took over the 15th-century Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini, which was also a bank before its present incarnation. There are many idilic things about this hotel. However, possibly the most impressive part of this property, is the monumental staircase that was been carefully restored to its original splendor.

With 96 guestrooms, Six Senses Rome is in the heart of the city and a stone away from the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. location, location, location. The decor is clean, fresh and airy. You will feel like you are walking into a spa as you enter your room. Every room is beautifully appointed with traditional cocciopesto plaster and Travertine limestone, but the patternsand the graphic design elements are a knock out. They combine beautiful decor with suspended plants and natural light. My favorite room is the Salviati Suite.

As you enter the hotel you will be met with BIVIUM Restaurant-Café-Bar on the ground floor of our hotel featuring an open kitchen and dedicated deli corners. NOTOS Rooftop Garden (which is possibly my favorite part of the property) has a secret Roman garden where you can enjoy an Ashtanga yoga lesson, or delicious bites while being surrounded by the panoramic and dramatic cityscape.

The spa naturally is the most sought-after destination in the hotel. Featuring Roman baths as their main attraction. Their biggest pull is their introduction to the latest biohacking technology for recovery and restoration. Six Senses Spa also reinterprets the themes of classicism and contact with nature, from the mosaic of Daphne’s laurel tree to the locally sourced and organic spa products. I don’t know about you, but after a day of exploring this endless city, a spa visit sounds like something right up my alley.

No wonder many call this property a true oasis amid the Roman hustle and bustle.
